It was my turn to become support crew on this event.  Sabine had entered the womens pairs with Emma
and I had agreed to help out where I could to make the whole weekend easier for them.  While the race
was on, as well as packing the car, I had given myself the job of camera boy.  I was taking shots for a write
up of the event from the girls perspective (coming soon) but as I had the memory I thought it would be a
shame not to get pictures of everyone else wearing an
MTBWales top.  As well as Sabine and Emma, Alvin
and Mark were there as a team and Roger was riding solo.  I'm not sure whether doing the event solo was
to see if he was up to the challenge or simply to get on more photos.  From my point of view the event
looked great helped in a big way by the weather.  I definitely want to be there next year but with a number
on my bike.  A big thanks goes to Patrick for organising another most excellent event and I look forward
to turning up with a team for Sleepless in the Saddle later on this year.

Even though there had been
detractors when this venue
was finalised everyone I spoke
to on the day really enjoyed the
event and it seems that the
posts on
Singletrack agree.
More thanks go to the marshals
who I kept busy by flying round
the course taking photos.  I
know from Sabine that their
encouragement counted.
Thanks also to Chris for the
