Swaledale and Arkengarthdale
|

These two valleys are found at the top of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The exposed moors and old mine works are covered with a substantial bridleway network allowing some real mountain bike epics.

A 19mile route around Reeth that is
split over two sections of different
length, each containing a big up and
down. The first goes over the top of
Reeth Moor before descending
towards Reeth. The second is more
severe and technical, climbing and
descending Fremington Edge.
Just to the West of Halifax with easy access from the M62 lies Calderdale, the home of Singletrack Magazine. The steep sided valleys and rolling moors are covered in bridleways that offer quite a number of rides in a relatively small area.

21miles of moorland riding
on the trails north of Hebden
Bridge. A great ride with a
mixture of terrain on the
descents and some climbs
that will get your legs burning.
23.5miles of riding around Hebden
Bridge and Todmorden. I first rode
this route after it was published in
Singletrack. It is a pretty varied ride
taking in the moors and dales. I have
ridden this route many times and it's
one I will keep coming back to.

This route of 22.5 miles is set in the
North East corner of the Yorkshire
Dales. It starts from Grinton
Lodge YHA and circles
Arkengarthdale. It contains a great
mixture of riding from wide gravel
tracks to fast and tight singletrack.
